| Columbine "99" One day in April "99" Everything was going fine Kids were laughing, talking, having fun Till Eric and Dillon brought their guns Eric and Dillon were filled with rage Just like animals in a cage They'd been involoved in lots of strife Today they would kill, then take their lives They picked off students one by one Into the hallways they would run The students ran for cover as the shots rang out They didnt know what it was all about As kids ran by, one by one Eric and Dillon shot their guns Eric and Dillon didn't care who they shot They killed a Christian named Rachel Scott Thirteen people died that day Some didn't even have time to pray When prayer was taken out of schools It made kids free to break the rules How many more people must lose their lives Due to rejection, due to strife It seems so hard to figure it out Why no one heard their shout So much rejection ruled their lives The only way out was to kill and die I pray for the families of those slain Their deaths will never be in vain Let's do something to spread the word Pay attention, let their voices be heard So stand united, one and all Instead of defeat, have a Victory Call Let's put prayer back in schools don't sit back and just be fools Save our children, we must shout We need to know what they're all about Kathy Fleck |
